for those keeping track, there has been 11 mass shootings in July 2023 and today, July 4, 2023 as of 1:39 Pacific Daylight Time, there has been 3 mass shootings which have claimed 10 lives and wounded dozens more.

in the United States the fourth leading cause of death for children is homicide (assault by gun)

Update: By the end of the day marking the birth of The United States of America 15 people were dead and 94 people wounded from a total of 16 mass shootings.

I have no words with which I can discuss or even describe the lunacy which has taken over my beloved country. The ease of availability of the types and models of weapons of war which I used during my time in the USMC, and the mass shootings they facilitate, is only one area which we must come together and completely rethink from the ground up.

Someday, maybe we will do just that, but I ask again in fear and desperation, what will it take?
