Football, fantasy?…..

So my stepson plays fantasy football. Now I don’t know anything about regular football even less about fantasy varieties of the sport, but I love my stepson so I asked him how his game is going. I’m pretty sure fantasy football is like a video game, right?

As soon as the question was out of my mouth my stepson’s eyes lit up and I was pretty sure I had just made a horrible mistake.

After five or ten minutes of him explaining to me the percentages of playing his players had left and the statistics behind his likelihood of winning and scoring the necessary points he needed to do some kind of something I don’t know I had really checked out mentally by this point and was using every bit of psychic energy I had to not let my jaw slack and the drool drip…

He paused to take a breath and I was not going to let this opportunity to get myself out of what I thought was going to be a simple good or not good thype of response but instead had become an in depth analysis of a sport I could really not care less about and it wasn’t even the actual sport it was (I was still convinced) a video game on the interwebs somewhere.

He paused and I asked, “so good, than?”

His face went blank and he said well yeah but it’s really a matter of…..” at this point I put my had up to stop him.

“I have no idea what you were talking about and honestly I don’t think I’m going to understand what you are about to say. So how about if we say you’re doing well and the. Go eat dinner?”

My wife laughing on the couch when I got there with my bowl of her famous green chili soup said as I was sitting down, “I think I saw the top of your head explode when (son) started talking about his team.”

Pretty sure I earned some husband points for asking but I will never make that mistake again……

This looks more football and less fantasy but honestly I have no idea
